what to do in chicago during nba all star weekend

NBA All-Star 2020 kicks off on February 14, 2020 (also known as Valentine's Day) with the Rising Stars and Celebrity games.

And if you're heading to the Windy City to catch all the action, there's a lot to see and do off the court too.

So we've compiled some of our favorite hot spots, museums, eateries, music venues and more so you can have a packed weekend in the Chi.

Best Places to Eat in Chicago

You can't touch down in any city without knowing where to grub. But where do you start? It has to be the finger food: pizza and hot dogs.

So whether you're itching for deep dish or thin crust, pizza is a must in this city. Head to the iconic Pizzeria UNO, Home Run Inn, a favorite since 1947 or more authentic Italian at Spacca Napoli.

Then, go for a classic Chicago dog. Spots like Superdawg, Wolfy's, and Byron's are just a few of the options you have in the Windy City. But there's nothing like a dog layered with ridiculous toppings to complete your Chicago trip.

Once you get that out of the way, there's the legendary steakhouses (like Gene & Georgetti and Gibson's), Michelin-rated eateries, or go on a foodie discovery mission in Chinatown, Pilsen, Greektown, Little India and more.

And if you want a snack, Garrett Popcorn Shop is the way to go.

From live music and nightlife to museums and shows, there's a lot to take in—even if you're only there for a weekend.

Once you take the customary selfie at Cloud Gate (better known as 'The Bean') head over to the Chicago Auto Show at McCormick Place—it runs until the 17th. You can see the latest from Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Porsche, Audi and more.

Then there's the Field Museum, a chance to catch a show during Chicago Theater Week, or plan a visit to the Art Institute, Garfield Park Conservatory or the Shedd Aquarium.

And finally, end the day with a drink and some tunes at Green Mill, Coco Club or The Front Room.

All of this is accessible from the United Center so you can plan around the All-Star Weekend event schedule.

And while you're there, stop by the Ulta store in the area and grab the Frederick Benjamin products you need to make the right impression pre- and post-game.

Just use our store locator to find the one nearest you!
