Why you should use Aloe for shaving regimen

3 Reasons Why You Should Be Using Aloe for Your Skin Care Routine

Posted by Michael James on

Fact: skincare matters. No one likes fine lines, wrinkles or dry skin. As guys, we either don't have the time, the energy or the regimen to make skin care a priority.

But damage is cumulative so harsh sun, wind, and even our diets affect how our skin looks. And you know how important it is to make a good first impression!

So how do you get your skin on the right track? For starters, look to nature! That's what we did when we developed our shaving line. And one of the key ingredients is aloe.

Aloe isn't just a cool plant for your desk.

What does it do? There are almost too many benefits to count! But we've narrowed it down to the top three you need to know about and why you should use aloe in your skincare regimen.

It Hydrates the Skin

For years, aloe has been used as a natural moisturizer for skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis. The extract helps to retain water in the stratum corneum layer of your skin, so that it stays bright and refreshed. Couple that with good sleep, water intake, a healthy diet, and moderate exercise and you have the formula for winning skin.

It's Non-Comedogenic

Just a fancy term to say it won't clog your pores. We build up oil and dirt from sweating at the gym, walking out to grab lunch or just being in the office. What you never want is for the particles to be trapped under the skin. That leads to breakouts that get worse if you pick at them, as most guys tend to do. Aloe works as a natural astringent to reduce pore size and keep out the excess sebum, dirt build up, and microbes.

It Helps Skin Heal

Aloe has antibacterial, antiseptic and anti-inflammatory properties. That means it safeguards the skin against germs that can cause infection and swelling. Aloe is packed with particles like gibberellins and polysaccharides that stimulate the growth of new cells and glycoproteins that reduce redness and inflammation.

That's why we thought it'd be a perfect fit for our Hydro-Glaze shaving gel. If you want your best shave, you need to encourage razor glide, reduce nicks and cuts, and moisturize the skin. Aloe does all three, plus it's naturally clear. It inspired our foam-free shave gel so that you can actually see what you're shaving. That means less strokes, less time in front of the mirror, and less irritation to worry about after.
